If you’ve been involved in a motor vehicle accident and have suffered an injury which was caused solely or partly by someone else, we can assist you with making a claim for compensation covering treatment, expenses and lost wages now and into the future, under the Queensland CTP system.
The Compulsory Third Party (CTP) scheme in Queensland is a system of insurance that is mandatory for all vehicle owners in the state. The scheme is designed to provide financial compensation to people who are injured or killed in motor vehicle accidents through no fault of their own.
Under the CTP scheme, every vehicle owner in Queensland is required to purchase a CTP insurance policy when they register their vehicle. The cost of the policy is included in the registration fee for the vehicle.
The CTP scheme is administered by the Motor Accident Insurance Commission (MAIC), which is responsible for approving the policies offered by insurance companies.
Your claim will proceed against the CTP Insurer who has insured the vehicle which is at fault for your accident. Importantly, your compensation will be paid by the CTP insurer and NOT come out of the pocket of the at-fault driver.
